About Me

Emma Wyeth is an aspiring Costume and Set Designer based on the UK South Coast. She has experience working on both film sets as a costume designer, and as a set designer and scenic supervisor for theatre productions. More recently she has been part of a design team at Arts University Bournemouth working with the Dorset Museum and has developed an interest in scenic painting.

Having been raised on the Isle of Wight, Emma has been influenced by the rich festival and carnival culture that has always thrived on the Island. She has experience working in outdoor theatre and remote festival settings and believes that rural regions are equally influential and deserving of recognition in the UK arts industry.

She is most interested in rural touring theatre and open-air festival design and much of her design work is catered towards an outdoor setting, which comes with its own set of challenges. Her personal projects often concern Folk Costume and Ritual within the UK and often involve a long walk into the British countryside to find stone circles and ancient monuments. Often inspired by the Right to Roam movement in England and Wales, Emma's folk costume design seeks to reignite a cultural connection to the UK landscape through costume.
